Emmett Technique

The EMMETT Technique is based on the belief that light touch can trigger a relaxation response in the soft tissue of the body, and the therapist may help relieve tensions resulting in feelings of improved comfort within the body.

It may be enjoyed by people of all ages, from the young to the elderly and by animals. Many people find they feel more at ease within their body and emotional wellbeing is enhanced and animals appear calmer and at ease.

This internationally recognised technique developed by Ross Emmett and taught in over 30 countries worldwide can be applied to both people and animals.

The soothing nature of the technique may help improve comfort and ease treated area(s) such as the back, abdomen, hips, legs, knees, ankles, feet, shoulders, arms, hands, and neck.

Symptoms which may respond well to the technique include:
neck and shoulder discomfort
stomach discomfort
body flexibility
headache and sinus discomfort
forearm and grip strength
ankle and knee restriction
back and hip discomfort
body stability and balance
feelings of stress and anxiety

What to expect

No heavy hands or sudden adjustments are used during treatment – Emmett is a light touch therapy. You don`t have to lay on a couch. Clients can be treated seated, standing up or lying down.
You don`t have to get undressed. The treatment can be applied directly to the skin or through light clothing.
You will not be required to remain still for long periods as this can be difficult if you are in pain.

‘1st Aid’ 30-minute sessions are available and are targeted at assisting the easing of a particular area of discomfort such as lower back ache, hip pain, ankle stiffness etc.
Longer Balancing and Restorative 1-hour sessions are also available. These sessions will focus on helping restore patterns of imbalance and discomfort throughout your body with the aim to improve your overall mobility and sense of wellbeing.
